Medtronic Inc. has received a subpoena from the U.S. Attorney’s Office about a former Army surgeon who is accused of fabricating data for an Infuse study.
Infuse is Medtronic’s bone-growth product.
Medtronic said it paid Kuklo nearly $800,000 over the past three years as a consultant, and that the payments were for product development and for training other surgeons.
Army officials notified the Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery of its concerns that data provided in Kuklo’s study were falsified, which retracted the article.
