Filed February 1st, 2008 joshua

A pair of Texas men have sued Medtronic, Medtronic Puerto Rico and Medtronic Puerto Rico Operations Company over implantable heart defibrillators they say have cost them the enjoyment of life.

Both men were implanted with an ICD that features the Sprint Fidelis 6948 lead wire system, currently subject to voluntary recall by Medtronic, The Southeast Texas Record reports.

According to the lawsuit, the men claim the heart defibrillators caused them to suffer “severe physical and emotional injuries, pain and suffering, medical expenses and loss of enjoyment of life.”

The Record reports the men demand claims of relief for products liability, breach of warranty and negligence. They seek punitive and exemplary damages for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, physical impairment, mental anguish pre- and post-judgment interest and costs of suit.
